The associate's level Visual Communication program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the commercial art, graphic design, and multimedia related fields. Students can acquire a working knowledge of drawing, design concepts, typography, digital design, and graphic design skills to create professional, illustrative solutions to commercial design problems. Using the tools of industry-current technology along with traditional methods students can develop skills in digital imaging, computer illustration, web design, desktop publishing, prepress, and advertising techniques. Graphic design, career development, and portfolio classes are designed to help prepare students for their internships and professional careers. Students will create a portfolio to showcase their skills gained in the program. Students can gain experience using Macromedia and Adobe software along with other popular software programs.
