The Medical Office Certificate Program prepares students for employment within the medical field as an office support specialist. Students will become familiar with medical terminology, the administrative office procedures and computerized office procedures, specific to the various medical office environments. Students will develop a variety of computer skills using Microsoft Office Applications to successfully participate in the Microsoft Office Users Specialist Certification (MOUS). Students will demonstrate the interpersonal, communication foundations and key office skills to enhance their value with any medical office, clinic or hospital setting. The externship component provides practical experiences in a medical setting, a capstone for all the student learning outcomes and invaluable prior work experience for student resumes.
