This program can provide students with a foundation in implementing radiographic procedures, radiation protection, and radiological physics, image production and evaluation of radiographs. These procedures are conducted in a caring, safe, effective, and legal manner. The student is expected to learn to work effectively with other healthcare professionals, patients, and families to promote patient diagnosis and recovery. The courses are designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs that may involve: Emergency procedures using energized radiographic units Positioning patients and processing film Patient interaction and vital sign administration Surgical asepsis Verbal and written communication with other healthcare professionals Upon successful completion of the program, the student is eligible to sit for The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist radiography examination. Registration or certification requirements for taking and passing exams are not controlled by the school but by outside agencies and are subject to change without notice to the school. The school cannot guarantee that graduates will be eligible to take certification exams, regardless of the eligibility status upon enrollment.
