The Accounting Management curriculum is designed to provide an in-depth study of accounting and accounting applications. Students explore the growing use of computers and data processing in modern business with particular emphasis on the accounting field. Students also will study various related business subjects. Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions in such area as business, accounting, insurance, finance and real estate. Graduation is acknowledged by awarding an Associate in Specialized Business degree upon satisfactory completion of the program. Opportunities for the Accounting Management graduate will include recording transactions in the journals, maintaining subsidiary records, posting to the general ledger, summarizing account balances, and assisting with the preparation of the financial statements on either a manual or computerized system. In addition, duties may also include reconciliation of bank accounts, anaylsis of accounts for audit purposes, or preparation of federal tax forms.
