The Bachelor of Arts in Social Services major is designed to provide a foundation of knowledge in the field of social services and to prepare students for future study in this and related fields. Through the study of human behavior and mental processes, students develop foundational understanding leading to professional competence and careers within social service organizations. An important goal in all social service courses is to help students appropriately interrelate their values with the needs of individuals seeking the support of social service organizations. A practicum is included within this 49 credit major.
