The bachelor of science in education with a concentration in child development is designed for individuals interested in working in the fields of human services and education with a special interest in young children and their families. This program focuses on the development of children in the early years (birth to age eight) through parental involvement, literacy, and cultural diversity. Additional study through electives or an emphasis area allows students to customize their degrees to meet the needs of their current employment or the job market. The bachelor?s program in child development was designed in collaboration with the Mailman Segal Institute for Early Childhood Studies in response to the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) federal mandate.
