The accounting program teaches students both technical accounting skills and interpersonal and written communication skills. The curriculum is presented in a manner that allows students to work toward their degree and at the same time prepare for the certifications that leaders in the business community have specifically noted as valued and required skills. The program is designed to prepare the student for successful completion of all three parts of the Certified Bookkeeper Exam, as administered by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). At least two years' full-time experience, or the part-time or freelance equivalent, is necessary in order to become an AIPB Certified Bookkeeper. This program will also assist students in preparing for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) exam. Please refer to the \Certification, State Board, and National Board Exams\" section of the catalog for further guidance on all exams."
