Biotechnology combines the use of biology and chemistry to develop products that improve the overall quality of human life. Techniques of biotechnology are used in agriculture, industrial applications, forensics, manufacturing and other industries. A goal of the program is to prepare students for entry-level positions in biotech and pharmaceutical labs, manufacturing labs, or crime labs, just to name a few. The Biotechnician Program at Medix School South prepares students for entry-level, research, manufacturing, and quality control positions in academic and industrial biotechnology facilities. Students can learn standard lab operating procedures, biomanufacturing, recombinant protein production and DNA/fingerprinting techniques for positions such as lab technicians, research assistants, microbiology technicians, chemical analysts and more!
