Students may enroll in the Accounting certificate program without a degree or previous experience. Credit hours earned in the program may be applied toward an associate degree program. The accounting certificate program teaches students both technical accounting skills and interpersonal and written communication skills. The program is designed to prepare the student for successful completion of all three parts of the Certified Bookkeeper Exam, as administered by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). At least two years' full-time experience, or the part-time or freelance equivalent, is necessary in order to become an AIPB Certified Bookkeeper. See the \Certification, State Board, and National Board Exams\" section of the catalog for further guidance."
