The objective of the Computer Network Technician program is to provide the student with the in-depth knowledge needed to perform computer maintenance and repair; troubleshoot and diagnose problems; install hardware, software, and peripheral devices; and to maintain procedures in microcomputer and network environments. The A+ course taught In this program provides the skills necessary to take the A+ certification exams sponsored by CompTIA. Although the program is designed to prepare students to take various certification or licensing exams, the School cannot guarantee the student will pass those exams. In some cases, field experience may be necessary to be eligible to take or to successfully pass the exams. Graduation is acknowledged by awarding a diploma upon satisfactory completion of the program. Graduates of the Computer Network Technician program may perform computer maintenance and repair. Responsibilities may include installation of computers and peripheral devices (printers, drives, etc.), performance of routine maintenance procedures, diagnostics (figuring out what is wrong with a computer or peripheral) and repair.
