The objective of the Medical Assisting program is to provide the medical training necessary to obtain entry-level positions in the healthcare field as Medical Assistants. Graduates of the Medical Assisting diploma program may be placed in entry-level positions at facilities such as urgent care centers, surgicenters and physicians' offices. Students in this program receive training in the basic fundamentals of medical assisting. This training provides students with skills necessary for entry-level positions in allied healthcare services. A diploma is awarded upon graduation. Possible Career Areas include urgent care centers, surgicenters and physicians' Offices. The Medical Assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment.
