The objective of the Medical Assistant program is to equip students with skills for all aspects of the medical office. Students will receive instruction in both the clinical and administrative skills required in the medical assisting field. Students will learn how to use these skills via classroom and clinical hands-on training. Graduates will be qualified for entry-level employment in medical offices, various hospital departments and healthcare clinics. This program will assist students in preparing for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam sponsored by the American Association of Medical Assistants, and the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam sponsored by the American Medical Technologists. Students without a high school diploma or GED may not be eligible to take the RMA exam.
