A pharmacy technician has many duties, all of which are designed to assist the pharmacist. You will learn to perform a broad range of daily activities such as: transcribing physician?s orders, pricing and filling prescriptions, preparing unit dose medications, IV admixtures, and sterile irrigations, selecting, dispensing, refilling, and labeling medications, handling and processing insurance claim forms, maintaining patient profiles as well as assisting with quality management and security measures. The program will assist students in preparing for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination (PTCE) sponsored by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
