The objective of the Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Service Technician (RHVAC) program is to provide students with the electrical and mechanical knowledge and performance skills required of entry-level technicians to install, adjust, troubleshoot, maintain and repair residential and commercial refrigeration, heating and air conditioning equipment for proper operation and efficiency. Graduates of this program receive 4,000 hours credit toward the 6,000 hours requirement for a Massachusetts Refrigeration License. The program teaches fundamentals of refrigeration and principles of electricity, residential and commercial refrigeration, heating, air conditioning, humidifying and air cleaning, residential heat pumps, heat load calculations and duct sizing.
