The mission of St. Andrews Presbyterian College is to educate its students to be knowledgeable and imaginative servant-leaders well prepared for a lifetime of learning, leadership and service in an ever-changing and interdependent world.

The College fulfills this mission by encouraging its community of learners, a community nurtured by wholesome and extensive interaction between students, faculty, and staff, to set challenging and expanding goals for individual and collective attainment. Through this process, and reinforced by a code of conduct that embraces honesty and civility, high levels of individual performance and excellence in all educational and co-curricular programs are achieved and sustained.

St. Andrews has been a national leader in undergraduate liberal arts and sciences education since its inception more than 50 years ago. True to its foundational heritage, St. Andrews is a student-centered institution of higher learning. At St. Andrews, providing excellent education for students is the first priority. The faculty at St. Andrews labors diligently to assist each student in achieving academic success and meeting personal goals. St. Andrews emphasizes interdisciplinary study and the acquisition and mastery of communication skills, analytical techniques, problem-solving strategies, leadership skills and creative expression.

The St. Andrews Main campus offers over 30 majors, with unique degrees in such areas as Creative Writing, Equine Business Management, Therapeutic Horsemanship, and Forensic Science. The residential campus is augmented with a study abroad program on three continents, an award-winning pipe band, a six-time national champion equestrian team, 16 NCAA Division II athletic teams, a state of the art Electronic Fine Arts Center, multi-media art facilities, and a multi-disciplinary science lab the size of a soccer arena! The main campus requires on-campus residency, with about 750 students, hailing from 40 of the 50 states and 8 foreign countries, creating a wonderfully diverse and exciting student body.

On-campus clubs and organizations focus on everything from academic interests to pure fun. For example, they include the psychology and physical therapy clubs, music and art groups, paintball and dancing, and even our nationally recognized Writers' Forum. We have an active student government, too, as well as a student newspaper, The Lance, and yearbook, The Lamp and Shield.

St. Andrews Presbyterian College is located in the Sandhills of North Carolina in the city of Laurinburg. The site was selected for the consolidation of two regional institutions due to the Scottish heritage and the high value of education by that group. With a groundbreaking on April 15, 1959, the 600 acres featuring a 70-acre lake are still a central part of the culture of Scotland County.
