Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio, USA, is a Catholic coeducational career-focused liberal arts college. Established in 1922 as a women's college it has been coeducational since January 2001. Traditionally, this institution of higher education served primarily as a residential campus, but in 1978, Notre Dame College began to offer a program known as Weekend College, or WECO. Local residents whose schedules prevented them from taking classes during the normal work week were given the opportunity to enroll in weekend college classes and eventually to earn a verifiable college degree from Notre Dame College of Ohio. In 2003, WECO celebrated its 25th anniversary. Located on 53 wooded acres in a suburban neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, the College today offers 29 majors, individually-designed majors and a growing intercollegiate athletics program. In 2006, Notre Dame College added athletics programs in men's wrestling and women's swimming and diving, among others. It now features 17 men's and women's sports programs. The college is a member of the American Mideast Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Its teams compete against other NAIA teams as well as NCAA Division II and Division III schools. On December 08, 1983, based on its architectural importance, Notre Dame College's historic Administration Building, built in 1927 in the Tudor Revival and other styles, was added to the National Register of Historic Places as Notre Dame College of Ohio. The building, designed by architect Thomas D. McLaughlin and built by contractor John T. Gill, originally housed the entire college.
