College Profile: New York Institute of Esthetics
New York Institute of Esthetics recognizes the importance of massage therapy by a Licensed Massage Therapist as a complementary therapy to traditional medicine and provides the necessary training to develop the skills; professionalism and knowledge needed to be a successful massage therapist. NYIM is committed to offering a comprehensive program enabling graduates to qualify for positions as massage therapists.
The program consists of a series of courses that are designed to provide the student with the skills and knowledge needed for competency on the job. Total course training is 715 clock hours. A clock hour is defined as a minimum of 50 minutes of staff-supervised instruction. All course learning objectives remain the same regardless of whether the student takes them as a part-time or full-time student.
NYIE’s facilities include clinical and instructional rooms, administrative offices, a student lounge, a faculty office, reception area, computer lab, bookstore, library, laundry area, kitchenette, conference room, and a lecture hall that can accommodate up to sixty participants. The clinic, open to the public Monday through Saturday (subject to change) has five private rooms. Rooms are equipped with esthetician tables, sinks, storage and supply cabinets and hot cabis. All NYIE facilities are handicapped accessible. Located next to a major shopping mall with ample complementary parking, NYIE affords its students the best of Western New York’s hospitality and attractions.
