National Polytechnic is a non-profit higher education institution accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

The academic programs of National Polytechnic are organized into four areas of study – Marine Technology, which focuses on commercial diving and marine technology; Allied Health, which focuses on hyperbaric medical technology and emergency medical technicians; Engineering Technology, which offers construction management and the non-destructive testing programs; and Security Management, which offers programs in homeland security.

The College's mission is to provide access to quality educational programs, faculty, and resources in technical fields that prepare a diverse student body for successful entry into the workforce and for career development.

Computerized Accounting I (Certificate Program)
Upon successful completion of the Computerized Accounting program, the student will qualify for a variety of entry-level positions requiring competencies in computer operations, data entry, word processing, electronic spread sheet, accounting and electronic machine (ten key) calculation. Keyboarding speed and accuracy, as well as English skills, will be stressed in this program.
Computerized Accounting II (Certificate Program)
The Computerized Junior Accounting program is designed to prepare students for employment as junior members of the accounting staff of a private business, industrial enterprise, governmental agency or private accounting firm. Students learn the fundamentals of accounting, from journalizing to preparing a post-closing trial balance, in a service-or merchandizing-oriented business enterprise. Students receive job-simulated experiences in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll. Proficiency in Electronic Spreadsheet and Computerized Accounting is an integral part of the training. Please see Business/Legal Program Course Description for a description of each class.

The following course is designed to provide successful graduates with the knowledge, skill and experience to not only seek entry level employment as a non-licensed dental assistant, dental office clerk, or front office receptionist, but also to provide a foundation of study to pursue the Registered Dental Assistant Examination, which they may apply for after 18 months of basic supportive service under the designated supervision of licensed dentist.
Dental Assistant III (Certificate Program)
The following course is designed to provide successful graduates with the knowledge, skill and experience to not only seek entry level employment as a non-licensed dental assistant, dental office clerk, or front office receptionist, but also to provide a foundation of study to pursue the Registered Dental Assistant Examination, which they may apply for after 18 months of basic supportive service under the designated supervision of a licensed dentist.
Massage Therapist II (Certificate Program)
The following course is designed for students to learn the techniques and procedures for massage therapy and other body conditioning treatments for hygienic or remedial purposes: Applying alcohol or other lubricants or rubbing compounds; Massage body using a variety of established techniques for health purposes; Under the direction of a medical practitioner, giving instructions for activities such as reducing or remedial exercises. Entry-level employment may also be available as a physical or corrective therapist assistant. Working under the direction of a physical or corrective therapist, prepare and administer physical therapy treatment such as massages; heat, light and sound treatments; and traction. Instruct, motivate and assist patients with learning and improving functional activities.

Medical Assistant (Certificate Program)
The Medical Assistant program will educate the student in the knowledge, skills, and techniques needed to function in the medical office or outpatient clinic. The student will receive cognitive laboratory and clinical instruction in administrative and clinical office procedures, medical laboratory tests and procedures, human anatomy, medical terminology, patient psychology, medical ethics, medical law and pharmacology. Students will acquire computer-related skills on user-friendly equipment. Please see Medical Program Module Descriptions for more information. Completion of this course will prepare the graduate for an entry level position for Medical back.
