Job Description

CALIBRE Systems Inc, an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions company, is looking for a Maintenance Instructor for the M1126 STRYKER Combat Vehicle. Must be able to deliver technical training consistent with course content and objectives to teach Soldiers automotive maintenance when they are training at the Sustainment Training Center (STC), Camp Dodge Iowa. Develop tests, maintain and deliver training content and related materials in support of the training program.

When no individuals are in for training then the maintenance instructor will function as maintenance staff ensuring the STC equipment is staged and prepared for upcoming class requirements, as well as, sharpening their technical maintenance skill sets on various new pieces of equipment. Update course documentation on a continuous basis to ensure timeliness and relevance, maintain technical resource library, and keep records of training activities. May develop original or modifies course content as needed based on customer requirements, feedback, course evaluation results and relevant changes in industry.

The instruction/training will ideally be in a small group instruction format consisting of 4-8 personnel (these numbers may be adjusted up or down, due to number of Soldiers/Technicians present within the class). Training can vary from classroom lecture to hands on instruction, or any combination of both. Training is approximately 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday with potentially one partial to full weekend per month. The training instruction will vary, but as a minimum will include all Field level tasks and potentially Sustainment level tasks that would be appropriate of Maintenance and Logistics Soldiers and Technicians.

Job Requirements

  • Must hold or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance;
  • Must have an automotive background and experience performing maintenance on the STRYKER Combat Vehicle;
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a team-based development environment;
  • Skilled in conducting instruction in both small and large group formats;
  • Skilled in the compilation and presentation, in both written and oral formats: able to develop Programs of Instruction, Training Support Packages, Enabling Learning Objectives, and lesson plans;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Proficient in PC use with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • Must possess a general working knowledge of how the Army Supply System works.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in the automotive field;
  • Previous experience using the Army collective and individual training methodology.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience as 91S Maintenance Occupational Specialty (MOS) or Career Management Field (CMF) 91 series of maintenance in the U.S;
  • Previous experience in teaching maintenance; whether formal or informal;
  • Certified Instructor or background in teaching at a maintenance school environment;
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified in all or some of the subjects listed in the qualifications section.

(Other education, commensurate experience and demonstrated ability of individual may be substituted).
