A week in the life of a Project Control Specialist:
Oversee the activities of PMO staff
Hires, trains, and evaluates new employees
Ensure that the contract is staying within the budget
Develops and implements budgets, prepares reports for PMO deliverables, and ensures the company complies with Corporate and NASA AFRC policies
Ensures staff have the resources to complete their work
Maintains training tracking spreadsheet for the contract
Reports to the Program Manager
Assist the Program Manager with written and oral status reports on schedule, budget, and performance.
Develop and maintain specifications for contract/project setup and reporting in Costpoint accounting system.
Analyze data for errors and inconsistencies and make corrections as needed.
Work with minimal supervision and have substantial latitude for unsupervised decision and action.
Develop ad-hoc cost reporting and other performance analysis.
Provide input and participate in Program Management Reviews (PMRs) with executive leadership on contract/project performance.
Analyze contractor financial performance data for trends or anomalies, investigate cause and recommend corrective actions.

5 years of relevant business or contract management experience in a technical services environment
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in government contracting
BA or BS degree in Business Management or a related field (finance, accounting, etc.).
Previous experience as a Project Analyst on a large Government Contract a plus.
Expert with MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Charting, Formulas, functions, etc.)
Experience with collecting information and reporting Earned Value on a large Government contract.
Experience creating and running program financial reports using the Costpoint accounting system.
Working knowledge of MS Project and data collection methods.
Experience preparing and maintaining project documentation such as: Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and Employee and Contractor Work Authorizations.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite software to create spreadsheets, prepare presentations, reports, and documents.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated team player
Effective written/verbal communication and presentation skills
A positive attitude, customer focus, and professional demeanor
