Mabey Inc is seeking an experienced CDL Class A Driver/ Heavy Equipment Operator to support our Matting division and be based out of our Jacksonville Depot located in Jacksonville, FL.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Driver is responsible for ensuring that his vehicle and equipment complies with DOT guidelines, including but not limited to:



    • Completing an ELD for each day of the month, regardless of whether they are on or off duty.  The ELD must be filled out completely and accurately.



    • Doing a quick visual inspection of the vehicle at the start of a driving day



    • Attaching fuel receipts to their log and list mileage traveled in each state



    • Showing fuel stop on ELD or paper log



    • Completing a “Driver's Vehicle Inspection Report” at the end of each day of driving.  If a driver notes any items to be repaired, the repairs must be done before the vehicle is placed back in service.  Once the repairs have been completed, the certified mechanic completing the repair and the driver who originally filled out the report must sign the report confirming that the repairs have been completed.



    • Understanding and having knowledge for operating our ELD (Electronic Log Device). Continue to use paper logs as back up to ELD and must submit the paper logs 





  • Supervises the installation of matting products at various work sites



  • Transports load in a safe manner, responsible for securing the load, observing the law and rules of the road




  • Operates heavy equipment (loaders, forklifts, grapples and trucks) and function as a crew member on an intermittent basis. This is driven by workloads and customer schedules.  




  • Interfaces with customer project superintendents, subcontractors and site personnel and collectively works through site-related issues



  • Adheres to and upholds Mabey's safety standards



  • Other duties as assigned



Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Must possess a current DOT CDL Class A License

  • Must have a good driving record that would pass approval by our insurer

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs

  • Travel up to 75%


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Heavy duty equipment experience preferred
