Currently there are nearly 10 million military veterans in the United States receiving Social Security benefits, with one out of every four Social Security beneficiaries having served in the military. While all transitioning military personnel are entitled to such government assistance, many veterans having served between the years of 1940 and 2001 may even be eligible for additional benefits from the Social Security Administration.
