Occupation Profile for Managers of Logging Workers

Directly supervise and coordinate activities of logging workers.

 
 
 

 
Knowledge
  • Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

Tasks
  • Core — Monitor logging operations to identify and solve problems, improve work methods, and ensure compliance with safety, company, and government regulations.
  • Core — Train workers in tree felling and bucking, operation of tractors and loading machines, yarding and loading techniques, and safety regulations.
  • Core — Determine logging operation methods, crew sizes, and equipment requirements, conferring with mill, company, and forestry officials as necessary.
