Architecture and Engineering - What's Hot

What’s Hot: The engineers, including AerospaceBiomedicalChemical and Civil (the largest with 287,800 members), Industrial and Electrical, rule this Architecture and Engineering group in terms of mean annual wage. The leading moneymakers are Petroleum Engineers ($147,030) and Computer Hardware Engineers ($118,700), respectively, well above the group’s MAW ($84,300). [Agricultural Engineers represent the smallest (sized) occupational group with 1,980 members, less than half the size of the next smallest occupation - Mining and Geological Engineers at 6,940. That said, Mining and Geological Engineers are well paid for their efforts, with a mean annual wage of $103,010.]

What’s Not: Technicians and drafters in several industrial fields comprise the entire leading ten on the Least Paid list, e.g., Surveying and Mapping Technicians ($45,490), Environmental Engineering Technicians ($52,500) and Architectural and Civil Drafters ($54,290).

Wage Estimates for the entire group can be found here.
