Central Village (06332) is a village in the Town of Plainfield located in Windham County, Connecticut. Central Village encompasses approximately eight square miles and is home to roughly 2,500 residents. Predominantly a residential community, Central Village does contain some light industry. The Quinebaug Valley Trout Hatchery is located there. This closed aquaculture facility is one of the largest hatcheries east of the Mississippi River, producing 600,000 trout annually.[citation needed] Connecticut Route 12 and Connecticut Turnpike (I-395) both run North and South through the Town of Plainfield.
