American Falls is a city in Power County, Idaho, United States. The population was 4,111 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Power County. It is part of the 'Pocatello, Idaho Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 2004, William Thomas Middle School in American Falls was awarded the National Principal of Secondary Schools Award. American Falls High School is a secondary school in American Falls. American Falls was also the first town in the United States to be entirely moved from one place to another. This was done to facilitate construction of the nearby American Falls Dam. The old townsite sits at the bottom of the reservoir created by the dam. (from wikipedia)
