Elmore is a city in Faribault County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 735 at the 2000 census. Elmore was the boyhood home of former vice president and presidential candidate Walter F. Mondale.[citation needed] The city motto at one time was "Not a Bad Border Town", which was widely joked about as it evokes an image of a seedy town on the Mexican border.
