Rushford is a city in Fillmore County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,696 at the 2000 census. Named for the spot where the nearby Rush Creek could easily be forded, the town was established in 1854, and recently celebrated its sesquicentennial anniversary. Every five years, Rushford holds a city-wide Homecoming celebration, with a standing invitation to all former residents of the city to return and visit. The town also hosts an annual celebration formerly called Frontier Days (now Rushford Days). Rushford Peterson High school's football team has won State in football 3 times in the last 5 years.
