It is located on Route 51 about one mile south of the intersection with Route 72 and fifteen miles north of Marble Hill, Missouri. Patton is part of the Cape Girardeau–Jackson, MO-IL Micropolitan Statistical Area. The Panthers, the basketball team from nearby Meadow Heights High School, set a national record in 2006 for making 36 three-point baskets in a single game.
