Summit is a town in Pike County, Mississippi, USA. The population was 1,428 at the 2000 census. It is part of the McComb, Mississippi Micropolitan Statistical Area. The town originated as a railroad town and was named Summit because it was thought to be the highest point on the Illinois Central Railroad between New Orleans, Louisiana and Jackson, Mississippi — nearby Brookhaven actually holds the title.
