St. Bonaventure is a census-designated place (CDP) and community located in the Town of Allegany in Cattaraugus County, New York, United States. The population was 2,127 at the 2000 census. This community, located between the Village of Allegany and the City of Olean, is established around St. Bonaventure University. New York State Route 417 passes through the CSD, which is immediately north of the Allegheny River and south of the Southern Tier Expressway. Saint Bonaventure has the distinction of having the lowest per capita income of any census designated place in New York State that is not a Hasidic Settlement.
