Haydenville is an unincorporated community in southern Green Township, Hocking County, Ohio, United States. Although it is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 43127. Prior to 1852 the area was known as Hocking Furnace. Peter Hayden, a Columbus Industrialist knew of the many minerals and purchased 3000 acres, renaming it Haydenville in 1853 with intentions of running an iron smelting company there. The company built and owned all of the structures in the town. Known as Ohio's last company town, it is located along U.S. Route 33 between Logan and Nelsonville. The Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad runs through the middle of town.[citation needed] (from wikipedia)
