Rugby is an unincorporated community in Morgan County, Tennessee and Scott County, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. The community has a population of about 85 residents. Rugby was founded by English author Thomas Hughes (1822-1896) in 1880 as an experimental utopian colony. Rugby's architecture and picturesque setting have made it a popular tourist attraction. In 1972, Rugby's historic area was added to the National Register of Historic Places as a Registered Historic District. (from wikipedia)
