Brownsboro is a city in Henderson County, Texas, United States. The population was 796 at the 2000 census. The community is on Texas State Highway 31. Brownsboro was originally called Normandy and was settled by Norwegian immigrants in the middle 1840s. Johan Reinert (1810-1864) and Elise Tuede (1815-1985), writing in Norwegian publications, urged settlers to come to the United States for "a rich life." Ole Rierson in 1845 bouught land for the Brownsboro Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery, which contains twenty-four marked and eighty-one unmarked graves.
