Port Bolivar is an unincorporated area located at the end of the Bolivar Peninsula in the U.S. state of Texas within Galveston County and part of the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. As of 2000, Port Bolivar had a population of 1,200. The town is home to the historic Bolivar Lighthouse, which once guided ships entering Galveston Bay. Ferry service is provided by the Texas Department of Transportation between Port Bolivar and Galveston, Texas. It will not be running for at least six months due to damage caused by Hurricane Ike.
