It is located on US Highway 101 on the western shore of Hood Canal, where Lilliwaup Creek enters into the saltwater fjord. A nearby fish hatchery keeps the local waters teeming with salmon, which draws fishing enthusiasts to the area in the fall. A stairway provides public access to the round-rock beach, where picknicking, shellfish harvesting, fishing, and beachcombing are popular.
