It is part of the 'Brunswick, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area' which encompasses all of Brantley, Glynn and McIntosh counties. Glynn County has a poor record when it comes to environmental responsibility. It is home to seventeen identified hazardous waste sites, six actively polluting industries, and four Superfund sites.
