St. Francois County (French: St-François) is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of July 2006, the estimated population was 62,181. Its county seat is Farmington. The county was organized in 1821 and is named for Saint Francis of Assisi. Natives pronounce the county's name as if it were the English "Saint Francis."
