Wood County is a county located in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of 2000, the population was 87,986. Its county seat is Parkersburg. Wood County is included in the Parkersburg-Marietta-Vienna, West Virginia-Ohio (part) Metropolitan Statistical Area.
